GUY'S Racing Club Proudly Debuts The Phoenixville Crit
High School junior Charlie Hanlon is wise beyond his years, and on June 20 he showed it. As Race Director, The Phoenixville Criterium presented by Guy's Racing Club was definitely an encore "Van Hanlon Production" as he did a great job all things considered. The feedback was all good from both officials and neighbors. Phoenixville is a town on the rebound and the community was pretty enthusiastic, and the outlook is favorable for a repeat next year.
Nice performances all around on this rainy day, including from the Masters 45+ group Guy's Sean O'Reilly who took second to Guy's shop and Mambo King strong man Keith Davies. The Cat 4 group that raced was outstanding. Guys Calvin Hoops gets the win, John Linville wins the field sprint for 3rd and did a phenomenal job helping Calvin's break to work. Turn 3 will now be known as "Calvin's Corner" since he left a fair amount of skin and plasma on the road as he was fully lined up for another win in the 3-4 race but went down on the bell lap. Visit the link below for complete race results.
Guy's Racing Club appreciates all those who came out in support this first time event. The club really wanted Charlie to earn his stripes as a Race Director, and now he sure has. Additionally, Charlie raised $450 for local charity "Phoenixville Area Children's Learning Center" on a rainy, windy day, and put on a good show.
