Mountain Team

Guy's Racing Club is populated with mountain bike enthusiasts at all levels. From regular rides in our local parks to regional race events plus epic 24 hour and 50+ miles venues. Some members have goals to just ride and race occasionally, others make serious attempts to champion a race series or experience 24 hour and long distance endurance trials.

Premier events attended by Guys Racing are largely within the Mid-Atlantic Super Series, which includes XC, STCX, long distance Endurance, and the Subaru 24 Hour Champion Challenge.

Guy's Racing proudly competes regularly in the Mid-Atlantic Super Series (MASS) and has a dedicated group of racers fom Beginner to Elite who rarely seem to miss an opportunity to race head-to-head against the best in the East Coast. We salute those listed below who placed in the final TOP 10 end of series ranking ! A tribute to their high level of fitness and dedication to mountain bike racing.

Honorable team mentions go to Ed Hein, Travis Sapsford, Scott Reynolds and Janel Demeter for winning their classes. While Ed and Travis had their classes locked up before the last race Janel and Scott came into the last race which was double points needing to beat their rivals which both did on a super-tough course at Bear Creek. We as a team want to also recognize Janel for her incredible finish at La Ruta as the 7th women, a well earned 2nd women at the Stoopid 50 and a respectable finish at Iron Cross on a mountain bike.

At the 24 hours of Seven Springs the Guys 5 person team consisting of Janel, Ed Hein, Travis Sapsford, Tim Dickson and John Miller won their class and had better overall times than the two younger age classes for the 5 person categories. In similar fashion the 4 man expert team of Andre Goldstein, John Hughes, Scott Reynolds and Kevin Mertz gave 110% to take 3rd in the toughest team category.

For 2009 several team members have already set the Wilderness 101 as a target race. This race can easily take over 10 hours to complete.

GUY'S RACING CLUB MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

The 2007 Colonial Subaru / VW Neshaminy Classic Mountain Bike Race Benefiting the Neshaminy Education Foundation

Thanks to all came out to make this one of the premier events of our season. Our club overcame drenching rain and tornado carnage in the week prior, but on race day the course was clean, riding fast and challenging with copious doses of steeps, bridges, rock gardens and the generous quantities of sweet XC singletrack.
